News Release: Crossings Ministries Hires Director of Development

Louisville, KY — Crossings Ministries, based in Louisville, KY, has hired Trey Brunson to lead their newly created Development Program, beginning August 1, 2016. This Development Program aims to build a needs-based camp scholarship program, expand the capacity of Crossings’ camp and conference centers, and to drive new ministry initiatives.
Trey, his wife Rachael, and their two sons are moving from California where they have spent the last year helping plant Story City Church in Burbank. Trey brings a wealth of experience to the table, having served in executive pastoral roles for the past ten years at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL and First Baptist Church of Dallas, TX.
In addition to his administrative and fundraising experience, Brunson’s extensive pastoral background will allow him to care for and shepherd the many friends and partners of Crossings. Brunson credits Dr. Gary Cook, former president and current Chancellor of Dallas Baptist University, for initially teaching him how to love, lead, and partner with God’s people.
Crossings’ new Development Program is a fundamental component in Crossings current efforts to expand their ministry. By the end of this summer, Crossings will have seen over 14,000 students and adults come to camp to hear the Gospel proclaimed. During this summer alone, 665 students have professed belief in Jesus as Savior and another 653 students have been called to ministry while at camp.
The camp and conference centers are nearing full capacity during the summer. President Jeff Dalrymple remarked on the unique door of opportunity the Lord has given Crossings, “Today, the need to reach students with the message of the Gospel is critical. As we look to the future, we have a unique opportunity to build on our current success. The board and leadership of Crossings are seeking to expand the ministry and influence of Crossings to see more lives changed and more leaders equipped.” Crossings also plans to expand their student camp options, offer more opportunities for student ministers to be encouraged and equipped, and to send more short-term missions trips to Haiti in partnership with Baptist Haiti Mission.
Brunson will begin his work within the Kentucky and Midwest region, focusing on building relationships with current and previous ministry partners. From there, Brunson plans to build a network of friends and ministry partners who can help Crossings reach more people with the Gospel.
When asked about the need for a Development Program, Brunson elaborated, “Imagine if we were able to build more buildings. How many more kids could we put there? Students need to hear about Jesus and be equipped to proclaim the Gospel. Future missionaries and pastors are sitting in those seats. The problem is not getting kids to camp, the problem is having enough seats for all the students who want to come.”
Meredith Hall, who has worked full-time in the Central Office since 2012, will be transitioning to the position of Development Manager. Hall has helped secure grants for Crossings in the past and will renew grant writing efforts as a piece of the overall development strategy.
