COVID-19 Updates

Crossings Family,

Even with all the changes that have been made in the last month, we as a ministry are eager to see what God does in and through us. We are eager for the fall when we can have camp for both students and kids, we are eager to provide camp for you to do in the safety of your own building, and we are eager to see you once again. We are deeply and truly missing having guests on our properties, but we are excited for what God has in store. Below are some things we think you should know.

  • Renew Weekends will be happening this fall for our students at our properties and for kids at several church hosts across the state. More information can be found on our website and registration will be open in early July.
  •  We are excited to announce Camp-In-A-Box for summer 2020. We plan to make camp available for you to purchase so that you can have camp with your group from the safety of your own campus. More information to come.
  • We continue to work with the governor’s office with the hopes to open up our properties for retreats this July. Be praying that we can get clear answers and permission to do so. When we have more information, we will share it with you.
  • If you have not filled out the Refund Request Form for summer 2020, you can do so using the link below. If you choose to transfer to summer 2021, be sure to do it before this Friday. If your transfer happens by that day you will receive early access to 2021 registration.

These alternative plans may not be what any of us had in mind for this summer, but we know that we serve a faithful God who can do mighty things in unique circumstances. Thank you for your patience and your trust as we have made these significant changes. As usual, we are praying for your ministry and we long to be together again.

Sincerely,

Lance Howerton

Crossings Family,

Our board met on Saturday to review the existing state guidelines and how they would affect July camp sessions. In the absence of a response from the governor’s office and no specific guidelines for overnight youth camps, the board has made the tough decision to cancel all July camp sessions. This decision was not made quickly and the safety of all parties was a top priority. Much like the cancellation of June camp sessions, you have several options. You can receive a full refund with no penalty, transfer your deposit to camp 2021, transfer your deposit to fall 2020, or donate some of your deposit directly to Crossings during this difficult time. As with the June cancellation, you will need to fill out a simple form in order for our team to help you in a timely manner. Despite this slightly disappointing circumstance we have been doing some incredible work preparing plans for fall weekend camp options for both students and kids. Webpages are live on our homepage for what we are calling Renew Weekends. Things to remember:

  • Click here to fill out the refund request form. This allows you to decide which options you would like to take advantage of all while allowing our team to execute that decision in a timely manner.
  • We plan to have Renew Weekends this fall for both students and kids. Check our homepage to learn more! We are very excited for this opportunity to give camp in a different way this fall.
  • Be reminded that registration for camp 2021 will open on June 15th. Also know that registration for Renew Weekends will open in early July. We will do our best to remind you and give you every opportunity to register for both.
  • We are also planning for retreat opportunities during the month of July. We will release more information on this as the details are finalized. Stayed tuned!

Lastly, we know that this situation is not what any of us had planned for this summer, but we can take hope in the fact that God was not surprised by any of this. We know that God can work in the midst of all of this and we are eager to see what God does through our ministry. As usual we are praying for your ministry and we long to be together again.

In Him,

Lance Howerton

Friends of Crossings,

This week I am going to ask that you pray for us as our board of directors makes a decision concerning July camp sessions. We have rewritten our cleaning procedures to align with the CDC guidelines, our program to follow social distancing requirements, and written requests to the state asking for permission to open. We continue to wait on direction from the governor around specific guidelines for camps, not knowing if we will be allowed to reopen. Even with new cleaning procedures, social distancing guidelines, and seeking permission to open, it is not an easy decision as your safety is our primary concern. So this week I ask for your prayers for wisdom and direction.

With everything going on in the world around us, we are still anticipating God to do amazing things in our future time together, whenever that may be. Here are some I believe you will find helpful:

  • We have a brand new website! Our team has launched the new site this past week with you in mind. With easier navigation, clearly specified landing pages, and all the information that you need in one place this site is our best yet. We hope you enjoy it.
  • Our decision for July camp sessions will be made public on May 26th. You will find that information in our weekly email as well as on our website. Our goal is to let our group leaders know of our decision in advance, to give them a chance to let their groups know before it can be seen on our website and social media platforms.
  • Registration for camp in 2021 will be going live on June 15th. Mark your calendars.
  • We have released a health and safety plan that you can download below. It showcases the changes we are making in order to keep you safe. You can also access this plan by visiting gocrossings.org/health-and-safety-plan.

We are consistently praying for you and your ministry and we covet your prayers for the leadership of our ministry and the decisions that are being made daily. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our guest relations team by phone (502) 491-7000 or email [email protected].

Friends of Crossings,

The Crossings staff has been working diligently to be prepared as if we were having camp this summer. During this time, we have also been developing new opportunities for your group to experience the Gospel. Normally, we would be preparing to open registration for next summer to all of our guests. We have had a similar schedule for this process for several years now, but like many things, we will be making some changes to the timing this year. Below you will find the date for when registration will open. We also want to let you know that Crossings has a new registration system designed to make the registration process easy for you and your participants. This registration site should not be a drastic change to what you are used to, though it may look a little different. You will still be able to access registration, as well as your account from our website, which will be launching a completely new look this Wednesday! To summarize:

  • The new registration date is June 15th. At that time, all summer 2021 registration will be open.
  • We will have a new registration site available for when registration opens for summer 2021.
  • Our new website is launching this Wednesday so be on the lookout.

We are very excited about these new changes and we hope you are too! As usual, know that we are continuously praying for you and your ministry. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our guest relations team by phone (502) 491-7000 or email [email protected].

In Him,
Lance Howerton

Friends of Crossings,

Normally we would be gearing up for training our staff and preparing to welcome our guests to property. As we write this today a lot of things have changed for us and we know a lot has changed for you. We have been working hard to keep you and your group’s health in mind with every decision we make. Trust that we are making plans for alternatives that we hope you will enjoy, and we will be shared those things in the coming weeks. Here are a few other things we want you to know:

  • As we would normally want you to spend this portion of the year encouraging your parents to create participant accounts for your students, we would like to ask that you stop momentarily. Our goal, if there is a need to cancel, is to make the cancellation process as easy for you as possible. If there are less participant accounts in our system the cancellation process moves very fast. We thank you in advance for your help with this matter.
  • We are preparing to launch a brand-new website. Our team has been working very hard to create a website that is both easy to use and navigate, with our goal being to get you to the information you need as efficiently as possible. Be looking for the launch which will be happening very soon.
  • If you still haven’t joined our private Facebook groups for both kids and student leaders, we strongly encourage you to do so. This week we will begin reaching out to you and we look forward to your feedback. Also be looking for giveaways and very fun content on all of our social media platforms starting this week.

As always, know that we are praying for you and your ministries through this time of uncertainty. We pray that God will work tremendously amongst your group during this time. If you have questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact our guest relations team by phone (502) 491-7000 or email [email protected].

April 27, 2020

Crossings Family,

I spent much of last week talking to student and children’s ministers over the phone. I was both inspired by your love for your groups and humbled by your belief in Crossings. We know without a doubt that you want camp and our deepest desire is to bring you camp. This week we have several  important updates for you:

  • On May 26th, we will make an announcement about July camp sessions. We continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19 and will make the best decision with the information we have, all with your safety in mind.
  • If you were registered for a June camp session let me encourage you to fill out the refund request form that can be found here. This is how you can transfer your deposit to 2021 or get a full/partial refund. To be clear, this form should only be filled out by the group leader.
  • We have created private Facebook groups for both student and kids ministry leaders. This is where you can find important updates/information, communicate with us, share ideas, ask questions of your peers, and hopefully a place to have some virtual fun. If you have not been invited to these groups please search for “Crossings Student Leader Group” or “Crossings Kids Leader Group” and request to enter.

Know that we continue to pray for you and your ministry as you navigate these very uncertain times. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call (502) 491-7000 or email [email protected].

In Him,
Lance Howerton

At Crossings Ministries our first priority is the safety and security of you and your students. We are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and what our local and national governments are recommending. With these things being considered, we feel that it is best for your health and the health of our staff to cancel camp for the month of June (see list of cancelled camp sessions below). It saddens us deeply to have to make this decision, but we feel strongly that it is currently what is best.

As of today, we are still planning for camp to happen in July. We will continue to monitor the situation and look for more clarity from national and state governments along the way. If we need to cancel camp for July you will be the first to know. Please continue to be looking for our weekly updates in your inbox as well as on our website under the COVID-19 Update tab.

As a reminder, due to this cancellation you can transfer 100% of your current registration and deposit fees to summer 2021. If choosing to transfer all or a part of your deposit, your group will be granted early access to registration for 2021 dates and housing. Also, upon request, you can receive a full refund or donate a portion of your refund back to Crossings to support our ministry during this difficult time.

Below you will find a link for a camp refund request form which is to be filled out by the group leader. In an attempt to make the refund process stress free, we encourage you to fill out the form in order for our team to process your refund. You will need to access your current statement to know the correct amount to be refunded. To do this, simply log into your Crossings account from our website or this link. From there click “View Itineraries”, “View Statement”, and finally “Print Statement” to generate a PDF for your records. If you have multiple registrations in June you will need to fill out this form for each registration separately.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our guest relations team. Give them a call at (502) 491-7000 or email them at [email protected].

Summer is quickly approaching and yet there is so much we don’t know; it is uncertain what the weeks and months to come will bring.  We know that makes it hard for you to plan and to know what to tell parents. We want to make this as easy as possible, so provided we have camp, your balance will not be due until you arrive at camp. Also, should Crossings need to cancel any week of camp, or you need to cancel,  you can transfer 100% of your current registration to summer 2021. If requested, you can receive a full refund or donate a portion of your refund back to Crossings to support our ministry during this difficult time.

We hope this email is helpful for you and your church. If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to email [email protected]. Be sure to include your name, your church’s name, and which camp session you are registered for in the email.

April 6, 2020

In the coming weeks, there will be several updates to keep you well informed on what is going on in the life of Crossings Ministries. We are working everyday toward having camp this summer, but like you, we don’t know what the next few months will bring. Regardless of what the summer looks like, we will be doing everything we can to fulfill our mission to create experiences to proclaim the Gospel. We are making plans for whatever may happen, but If camp does not go as planned, we will be sure to let you know as soon as possible. Here are some things we are doing that we want you to be aware of:

  • We continue to plan for Summer 2020 as if nothing has changed.
  • We are considering contingency plans to adapt to whatever this season may bring.
  • We are looking to fulfill our mission of creating experiences to proclaim the Gospel with The Remain Initiative. We hope you participate and it gives you the opportunity to remain in the presence of God as mentioned in John 15:4.
  • We are fully prepared to refund any payments made (including your deposit) if you feel the need to cancel. You may also transfer payments toward summer 2021 or donate a portion of your payments to Crossings during this time of uncertainty for our ministry.
  • We will provide updates on a regular basis, so keep your eyes peeled.
  • Our goal of serving churches will not change. We are praying for you and are ready to answer any question you may have. Please call us anytime at (502) 491-7000. Leave a message with your name, the name of your church, and which camp session you will be attending and a member of our guest relations team will call you back.

As stated before, if any changes are made you will be the first to know. Be sure to check your email weekly for updates. We are grateful for you and your ministry.

March 11, 2020

I know you have heard much about COVID-19 (coronavirus) and it’s continued spread in and around Kentucky and the surrounding states. We have been monitoring its progress as we evaluate our health and safety protocols looking towards summer. We continue to plan, prepare and pray for what will be an incredible summer here at Crossings. We also want you to know we are doing all we can to ensure a safe and healthy environment for your child and your church group.

As you know, safety is our number one priority here at Crossings and we want to ensure you that we are doing all we can to make our properties a safe place where the Gospel is shared in all that we do. We are watching closely the recommendations from health organizations and medical professionals and will continue to intensify our organizational responses in the coming weeks and months.
