Haiti Recap: An Update from Our Spring Mission Trips

haiti recap (2)As the dust begins to settle from the whirlwind of the past two weeks, we want to take a moment to reflect on all God accomplished through our two spring mission trips to Haiti.

The first of our two teams left on March 29 and returned home on April 4. Following on their heels was our second team, who left April 5 and traveled back last Saturday, April 11. Both teams came home with stories of the Lord’s faithfulness, not only in the mission work, but in their own lives as well.

Over the two weeks, a total of 12 Haitian students came to know the Lord during the events hosted by our teams! Each of our teams spent two days serving alongside churches in rural villages, hosting over 100 children for Vacation Bible School. The teams also spent one day working a day camp for over 100 students at the Baptist Haiti Mission’s Camp Le Phare.

Not only did the teams see a great response from the Haitian students, they also saw seeds planted in their own hearts. Two team members responded to God’s call in their lives for full-time missions, and have come back excited to pursue that call. Also, after visiting one of the orphanages in Fermathe, a couple from one team has answered the Lord’s leading to begin the adoption process from this same orphanage!

As we reflect on the amazing works the Lord did through our spring Haiti trips, we look with great excitement at the summer ahead! We will send three mission teams to Haiti this summer to also serve alongside the Baptist Haiti Mission. Please join us in prayer as we thank God for His work these past two weeks, and as we prepare for His work this summer!
